Sicarius on Aug 25, 2014 22:35:22 GMT The Big Books of Rules - First EditionA player rule-book on WH40K RP.To help the player community understand what can and cannot be done on the server, the Big Book of Rules exists; obviously things might get missed out that cause contention, but worry not - this rule book will be updated when-ever it needs to be modified. So without further due, here are your rules to reference.Chapter One - RP-PVP: " Fighting Other Players "1.) Faction Fighting - To encourage the fierce chaos of the Warhammer universe, factions will be permitted to fight at any time on the server. Unless an admin says otherwise due to an event.2.) Surprise PVP Attacks - The "AIM TO MISS" principle must be employed if it is a surprise attack at the start, when the two sides are properly engaged in combat combatants may fight normally, role-playing and shouting to one another through out. If somebody is killed accidentally during the initial start of a surprise attack it will not count towards their PK number. 3.) Kill, Capture or Injury Escape - The player that gets a final PK count on another player may decide if they will kill them, injure them or try to capture them; note that if friendly forces are around an injured player they can evacuate them and prevent you from capturing them. Note that if injury is chosen, a heavy hit must be taken that will take a character out of action for a few days, such as chest shot wound. Notify the players in global OOC what you decide to do. The player who was killed must return to the exact location he died at before continuing RP. 4.) Perma-Kill Count - A player has 3 lives during battle, after they lose their first life it is a "KNOCK BACK" meaning their armour soaks up the hit or they've got a graze. After they lose their second life it is a "MINOR WOUND" such as a flesh wound. After they lose their third life it is a "LIFE THREATENING INJURY" and the killer may decide what happens. If it is an NPC that has claimed the kills the event admin will decide what happens.5.) Safe Zones and Kill Zones - There are three zones on the server to take note of and each marks out what a player can expect. The 'GREEN' zone is a SAFE zone and players are unable to fight among themselves with RP-PVP there without explicit admin permission or an event is in progress, emote fighting is fine. The 'AMBER' zone is a RISK zone, Guard presence will protect the work force and you can risk a RP-PVP attack, kidnapping and so forth there if done properly but you must be willing to accept that Guardsmen will likely overpower you quickly if you're not smart about it. Finally the 'RED' zone is the KILL zone which is lawless and very rarely patrolled by the Guard, it is the slums and here gang wars can take place and RP-PVP can take place without administration approval, that doesn't mean RDM, an admin will intervene if you are killing without purpose; if you are playing an enemy faction in the red zone you must consider if you start killing without thought and making yourselves known and obvious, the Guard will respond. Zones will be clearly marked by signs before you enter them, how-ever if you're uncertain just ask in OOC. If signs are up and you miss them and you're attacked, that's your own problem, be alert! 6.) No RDM - RP-PVP isn't an excuse for you to attack players without cause, you must be a role-player first and a fighter second, if your character is crazy and suicidal? Make him appear that way before launching a bombardment of las-fire on a Guard patrol, build up to that point. Obviously if two opposing factions cross one another's paths, where both parties are surprised, you can RP-PVP immediately. 7.) Death by typing - If you're in the middle of typing a sentence and killed before a battle starts, your death won't count, unless you started typing after shots were fired. Make sure you use cover before typing!Chapter Two - RP-PVE: " Fighting NPCs "1.) Fight System - There is no need to "aim to miss" for NPCs.2.) The PK system - is exactly the same; 3 lives. The player who was killed must return to the exact location he died at before continuing RP. The event admin will decide your characters fate, depending on what the situation is; if you want to contest a PK then take it to the complaint forums.Chapter Three - Emote Rules 1.) Power Emoting - Players cannot decide the fate of other players through emotes, e.g. Tom kills Bob - it must be like e.g. Tom attempts to kill Bob. 2.) Meta Gaming - Players cannot use OOC information to benefit their characters IC.3.) The /roll System - The higher /roll wins what-ever the roll is being used for. Chapter Four - Tools Trust & Phys Gun1.) Prop Displacement - Players cannot edit other players mods without the permission of who-ever set it up, unless the prop has been placed in another players base or permit owned location. This is a punishable offence. Admins can remove props created and left on the streets if it obstructs RP without their consent. Your constructions are safest in your permit owned locations, or admin approved bases. This does not apply to Imperial Guard constructions, who can be approved to build anywhere by a superior rank. Chapter Five - Common Sense1.) The basics - If you spam, troll, insult or otherwise attempt to disrupt role-play you will be kicked. If you are a repeat offender you will be banned.
